care planning. A Long-Term Care Specialist, Ted is licensed
in Arkansas, Louisiana & Texas to offer financial solutions to long-term care needs.
He
is a Certified Field Underwriter and conducts seminars for civic,
professional and church groups.
Teddy’s motivation to serve his clients and address their
need for long-term care planning comes from a very personal experience.
Teddy's uncle suffered from from a stroke and was in an Nursing Home Special Care Unit in
Mission, TX for almost 9 years. The cost of his
care exceeded $450,000 – all of which was paid out of his
estate. He did not have any insurance to cover this expense.
“I know if my Uncle Buddy would have been aware of what this was costing
him, it would have devastated him to know that all his hard-earned
savings was going to pay a nursing home. An LTC policy could have
preserved a large portion of his estate, which he could have passed
on to his family, as he wished.”
Teddy is a firm believer that long-term care planning provides
appropriate alternatives and affordable solutions that enable people
to maintain independence, protect assets and prevent them from becoming
a burden to other, especially their family members.
Teddy knows firsthand the financial and emotional burden incurred
with long-term care and believes the focus of long-term care planning
is two-fold: protect your dignity and independence as well as your
assets.
Long-term care and how to plan for it is a multi-generational issue,
a work-place issue and a public policy issue. Through one-on-one
presentations and group meetings, Teddy educates people about
how these issues can impact parents, children, grandchildren and
the workplace.
Educated at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, AR and Northwestern State
University in Natchitoches, LA, Teddy is a former small business owner, and is active in Neighborhood
Associations and Chamber groups. He resides in
Texarkana, AR where he is a member of Beech Street First Baptist
Church.
